Today we had a visit from Norva Hall, Economic Officer of the Political and Economic Unit of the US Embassy. We discussed the general panorama of IP in the Dominican Republic, including aspects of trademark prosecution and challenges for enforcement, patent scenario, copyright piracy, border measures and regulatory aspects. These comments are usually taken into consideration, within the general research, for the US Special 301 report, which is the annual review of the global state of intellectual property rights protection and enforcement made by the United States.
