Orietta Miniño is the founder and head of the Litigation and Corporate-Commercial Practices of the firm.
With over 30 years of experience as a litigator in the Dominican Republic, Orietta has appeared before all levels of courts, as well as before administrative bodies, on a variety of issues. She has been involved in ground breaking cases and has strongly advocated for a more pragmatic and commercially viable application of the law by the national courts and authorities. In addition to her general litigation practice, Orietta has a particular expertise in administrative disputes as they relate to public tenders.
Orietta also has significant experience in corporate and commercial matters, with a particular expertise in advising foreign companies on doing business in the Dominican Republic. Together with her team of corporate and commercial lawyers, she provides advice and support in the areas of real estate law, customs and excise, banking law, employment law, and company law and frequently handles complex transactional matters for her clients.
Admitted to the Dominican Republic Bar in 1983 Orietta is also a Notary Public in Santo Domingo, Distrito Nacional since 1985. She obtained her LL.B./J.D. from the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Ureña (UNPHU), in Santo Domingo and her LL.M. in Civil Procedural Law from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM).
