Dominican Republic Launches Its National Intellectual Property Strategy
The Dominican Republic has taken a step toward consolidating an innovation-driven development model with the launch of its National Intellectual Property Strategy, a roadmap developed in collaboration with the Dominican Intellectual Property Association and formally introduced at an event organized by the Ministerio de Industria, Comercio y Mipymes.
The event brought together leading representatives from both the public and private sectors. MINIÑO, as a leading intellectual property firm in the region, was present at this significant moment for the country’s IP ecosystem.
Through this initiative, the Dominican Republic is clearly positioning innovation as a structural pillar of its national development strategy. International experience consistently shows that economies built on knowledge, technology, and the strategic management of intangible assets achieve higher levels of competitiveness, sustained growth, and long-term prosperity.
As emphasized by government officials, intellectual property is no longer a peripheral issue, it is a central component of sustainable development, linking creativity, advanced manufacturing, the orange economy, and emerging technology sectors to value creation, royalty generation, and durable national wealth.
At MINIÑO, we commend this initiative and reaffirm our commitment to contributing technical expertise and strategic insight to efforts that strengthen the country’s innovation ecosystem.
