Do you have a clear strategy to manage and protect your data?
On April 30, during our talk “My Data. Your Innovation. Our Secrets: walking the fine line between Privacy, Protecting intangible assets, and IP,” we explored how to build a strong data‑protection strategy.
Below are the key steps to help you get started. Remember: by protecting your and your clients’ data, you’re protecting your business’s value.
1: Identify the information you process
What data do you handle? How do you protect it?
Identify whether you have Business Secrets, Personal Data or other assets and how you treat them.
2: Clear Privacy Policies
Speak clearly and transparently: Adapt your privacy policies to the language and context of your users.
3: Agreement with Collaborators
Formalize responsibilities: Your collaborators and partners should know how to handle data correctly.
4: Analyze Risks
Prevent rather than cure: Analyze and evaluate risks, detect vulnerabilities and apply corrective measures.
5: Build a strategy
Have a plan before you act: Surround yourself with experts and build a proactive strategy.
6: Measures + Cybersecurity
Implement the organizational and technical measures in your plan: Ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability. Ensure your cybersecurity.
Data protection is more than an obligation; it is an investment in your core value. Which of these keys do you already apply? What is your next step?
